Run For Heroes is an incorporated charity that began in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We launched the viral Instagram challenge: Run 5k, Donate £5, and Nominate 5 others - a simple idea that sparked a global movement.
In just a few months, the campaign raised over £10 million for NHS Charities Together, with an additional £1 million going to international charities tackling the effects of the pandemic.
After this, our community continued to rally behind us. We raised £20,000 for The Care Workers' Charity through Faster 5k Fridays, and another £150,000 for healthcare charities across the UK through our nationwide event, #5kMay, in partnership with JustGiving.
To date, we've mobilised over 1.5 million people to get active and give back. We've seen first-hand the power of communities coming together - and how small actions, multiplied, can create meaningful change.
Today, our mission is simple: to get as many people moving as possible - especially via running - because we believe it has the power to transform lives.

Founder, Trustee
With a passion for running and charity from a young age, Olivia combined the two to create Run For Heroes. Her mission is to get more people active while raising vital funds for health and wellbeing. Her favourite track to run to is Move On Up, getting her into the swing.
Head of PR, Trustee
Alice is our PR-savvy media queen who is responsible for getting the word out there. Alice is your go-to contact if you want to promote Run For Heroes! She loves listening to podcasts around the lakes of Copenhagen on her runs.
Trustee
William is a corporate lawyer at an international law firm. He frequently advises charities and non-profit institutions on a wide range of matters. His favourite running song is Through the Wire by Kanye West.
Trustee
Lauren’s 10 year accountancy experience within the nonprofit sector meant she was the perfect woman for our trustee team. Lauren gets into the groove of running by listening to Elephant by Tame Impala.
Web developer
Andre is a our wonderful developer, bringing the Run For Heroes website to life. Try to spot our resident ninja hidden somewhere on this site, too! If you find him running, you can guess he is probably listening to The Boys Of Summer by Don Henley.
